About the procedure

A little clarity.
A considered decision.

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, addresses visible changes such as sagging in the lower face, jowls and some changes around the neck. The operation repositions tissue and may remove excess skin. It does not stop ageing or treat every feature of the face. The approach depends on the areas involved and your existing anatomy. A consultation should explore the specific changes that matter to you, explain incision placement and discuss the balance between potential improvement, recovery requirements and surgical risks.

A little clarity

Your questions,
answered.

Will a facelift stop ageing?

No. It can change existing contours, but natural ageing continues.

Does it also treat the eyelids?

Eyelid concerns require separate assessment and are not automatically addressed by a facelift.

Will there be scars?

Yes. Your surgeon should explain incision locations and individual scar-healing factors.

Does adding this procedure confirm my suitability?

No. Build My Plan records your interests for discussion. A qualified clinician must assess suitability, risks and any alternatives.

How do I find out my own recovery plan?

Ask your treating team for written instructions, review arrangements and contact details appropriate to your procedure and health.
