About the procedure

A little clarity.
A considered decision.

A Brazilian butt lift uses fat removed by liposuction from another body area to add volume to the buttocks. The available donor fat, skin and tissue characteristics influence what may be possible. It is not a substitute for removing substantial loose skin. Fat transfer to this area carries important risks, including potentially fatal fat embolism. A consultation should address surgical qualifications, the treatment setting, ultrasound guidance and safe injection technique, alongside realistic outcomes, alternatives and arrangements for care after surgery.

Things to consider

  • Fat embolism can be life-threatening or fatal.
  • Infection, asymmetry and fat necrosis are possible.

Your questions,
answered.

Does a BBL use implants?

A BBL uses transferred body fat; buttock implants are a different procedure.

Why discuss ultrasound guidance?

It helps the surgical team monitor injection placement and is part of current safety recommendations.

Is a particular size guaranteed?

No. Anatomy, donor tissue and fat survival limit the achievable result.

Does adding this procedure confirm my suitability?

No. Build My Plan records your interests for discussion. A qualified clinician must assess suitability, risks and any alternatives.

How do I find out my own recovery plan?

Ask your treating team for written instructions, review arrangements and contact details appropriate to your procedure and health.
